Amtrak To Hell

Seriously, Though, Penn State

Okay, Okay….I know I, and a bunch of other people in the media and internet  and whatnot, have been a little hard on you over the week.

Not as hard as Jerry Sandusky was on those little boys, and not as hard as Joe Pa or McQueary’s deliberate inaction was on those little boys, and not as hard as those asshole rioters who inexplicably blamed the media instead of the people in power (that means Joe Pa) were on that television van, but still, I’ve been a bit of a dick with my bad jokes and silly judgments.

After all, you’re all suffering over this right now. Hey, I get that. Your idol is not the guy you thought he was, and that sucks. Turns out that having a winning college football career doesn’t necessarily make you a great person….who would’ve thought?

And now you have to put up with bad jokes about your university, and worry that people will categorize you with a few (okay a couple thousand) “bad apples” who actually defend and/or protect child molestors and their accomplices, which is actually something that even some of the worst people our society has to offer won’t tolerate. That must really suck for you. I can see why you’re so angry about that.

I mean, sure, those kids had it bad when they were being sexually victimized by some scumbag who pretended to care about them, but hey, at least you had a candlelight vigil for them a week after finding out about it, and only a couple of days after the initial reaction, which was to riot in the streets against the firing of the guy who let this all go on for 8 years, so good job there.

I’m sure Sandusky’s victims felt just a little bit better after you all sang the alma mater of the school that was responsible for victimizing them in the first place, and isn’t that what it’s really all about?
